The newest campus facility is really not new at all. The building originally opened in 1971 as the Intramural-Physical Education Building. In 2005, IMPE shut down for a total renovation, which produced the sparkling 340,000 square foot Activities and Recreation Center (ARC), one of the country's largest on-campus recreation centers. The new name better reflects its current purpose and support of the University's mission for community enrichment.
