Learn-to-Skate
Learn-to-Skate follows the guidelines of the Ice Skating Institute (ISI) for recreational and competitive skaters. Below you will find the schedule, breakdown of levels, class durations, fees, etc. Students looking for skating course credits should see the University's class listing for Kinesiology (The Learn-to-Skate Program does not offer classes for credit).
Winter and Spring LTS registration will begin on November 15 for members and on November 17 for non-members.

Classes start January 8. Registration begins November 15 for UI students and Campus Rec members. For non-members, registration begins on November 17. View class descriptions and information regarding the first day of class.
- Thursdays, January 8-29
- 5:30-6:10 pm: Tot 1 and 2 (5:30-6 pm), Tot 3 and 4 (5:30-6 pm), Pre-Alpha 1, Pre-Alpha 2, Alpha
- 6:10-6:50 pm: Pre-Alpha, Pre-Alpha 2, Alpha, Adult Beginner, Beta, Gamma/Delta
- 6-8:15 pm: Bridge Program (Delta and above)
Spring 2009 Schedule

- Mondays, February 2-March 30 (No class March 23)
- 6-6:40 pm: Tot 1 and 2 (6-6:30 pm), Tot 3 and 4 (6-6:30 pm), Pre-Alpha 1, Pre-Alpha 2
- 6:50-7:30 pm: Pre-Alpha 1, Alpha, Beta, Gamma/Delta, Hockey Skating for Adults, Off Ice Conditioning
- 7:35-8:15 pm: Ice Dance/Moves in the Field
- Tuesdays, February 3-March 31 (No class March 24)
- 7-7:50 pm: Off Ice Dance Class—held at Campus Recreation Center East (CRCE) MP1
- Thursdays, February 5-April 2 (No class March 26)
- 7-7:40 pm: Pre-Alpha 1, Pre-Alpha 2, Alpha, Skating Stars, Jumps and Spins
- 7:45-8:25 pm: Adult Alpha/Beta, Adult Beginner, Gamma/Delta*, FS 1-2*, FS 1-3
* These classes are designated for adults 12 and over, but others may register with permission from Learn-to-Skate Coordinators.
- Saturdays, January 31-April 4 (No class March 21 and March 28)
- 9-9:30 am: Tot 1 and 2, Tot 3 and 4, Parent Tot, I.C.E.
- 9:35-10:15 am: Pre-Alpha A, Pre-Alpha B, Pre-Alpha 2, Alpha
- 10:20-11 am: Alpha, Beta, Gamma/Delta*, FS 1-2*, FS 3-4*
- 11:15 am-Noon: Synchronized Skating Class
* These classes are designated for youth 12 and under, but others may register with permission from Learn-to-Skate Coordinators.
Registration and Refunds
Registration
To register, download the registration and waiver form (pdf). Complete it and bring to the UI Ice Arena.
Refunds
Refunds are only given through the first day of class. Refunds will be given, minus a $5 processing fee, and will be prorated for the cost of any classes attended. Refunds can only be processed Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5 pm.
